Jack Berman, a Legend in Sales
December 8, 2009

It is our sad duty to report that Jack Berman passed away on Friday, Dec. 4. He was 94. Our condolences go to his dear wife, Pearl, and their family who will miss his shining presence. Jack's was a life well-lived!

Jack was a friend of CPMR from its inception and taught in the program for 20 years! Jack loved teaching about sales and always wanted salespeople to become better and better. Synergistic selling was a topic Jack could talk about for hours...or days. He literally wrote the book "Synergistic Selling" in two editions which MRERF published.  His contribution of the call organizer to the life of sales people has been invaluable.

He was always one of the acclaimed instructors in CPMR.  Each year his session was fresh and up-to-date.  He was an inspiration to all of those who ever heard him teach.  Jack's final year of teaching in the CPMR program was 2006 when he was 91 years young and his evaluations were still the highest of any instructor.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Jack Berman Fund which he established many years ago to benefit the profession he loved.

Tributes to Jack Berman
What sad news. I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Berman as a CPMR instructor in 2005 and will never forget him. I mandated our staff use a sales call organizer the second I returned from that year.

We are sending my partner, Adam Goldenberg, out for his first year of the CPMR course in January.
Clint Robins, CPMR - Griffin Marketing Group, Inc.

Thank you so much for making the effort to let us know about Jack’s death.  I graduated from the CPMR program in 2000 when it was at Indiana University.  I can still remember the class that Jack held.  Our rep firm was started by a man by the name of Cliff Alexander.  Cliff has been dead for several years now but he would have been one of Jack’s contemporaries.  The word that comes to my mind when I think of both of these great men is gentleman.  They were the selling professionals that gave the profession its good name.  Always remember your customer’s wife’s birthday.  That type of person to person professionalism that has and always will work.  Jack had a unique way of keeping current even with his advanced years.  A true professional who should and will be missed.

So sorry to hear the sad news. Great well respected person to all independent reps.

Such a bummer! Jack and George in the same year! UGH! I will never forget Jack's talks at CPMR at ASU.
Kevin Brown, CPMR - Paradigm International

I missed having Jack as a teacher for CPMR, having started in 2007, but I was lucky to have him as a fellow club member in Radio Pioneers of Southern CA. He will be missed.
Larry Weber, CPMR - The Sales Group

We all appreciated Jack!
