MRERF Purpose and Structure

Structure
The Manufacturers' Representatives Educational Research Foundation (MRERF) is a charitable, education foundation sponsored by manufacturers' representatives Associations in diverse industries. A board of trustees, appointed from our sponsoring associations, governs the Foundation. The Foundation is funded through donations from its sponsoring organizations, other associations, corporations, and individuals. Purpose
The Foundation is dedicated to:

  • Raising awareness of the independent multiple-line selling organization
  • Providing professional education for the representative community
  • Funding research concerning the representative function of business
  • Providing information on the value of the function to the marketplace

The MRERF Education Program provides educational opportunities through certification, sales training, and continuing education programs. The Foundation also prepares educational materials, and publishes resource material and periodic reports concerning the representative function. All information generated by MRERF is available to both the academic and business communities.

MRERF's educational subsidiary, the Institute for Professional Advancement (IPA), is the credentialing organization for all designations. Our education programs have distinct, yet synergistic, focus areas: Consultative Selling (CSP), Rep Firm Management (CPMR) and Regional Sales Management (RSM). Personal designations accompany graduating from Certified Professional Manufacturers Representative (CPMR) or Certified Sales Professional (CSP). The RSM program does not currently result in Certification.

The MRERF Research Program initiates and funds a broad range of analytical and investigative activities. All research spotlights understanding and improving the Representative function in the marketplace regardless of industry. This research may be carried out within the academic community or through firms dedicated to the study of business practice and the consequences of change in the marketplace.
